I bought this rail because the 7″ I originally got from Veriforce Tactical was not long enough to cover the gas block on a carbine-length gas system. Right out of the box, this rail comes with all of the goodies you’ll need to mount it on your upper. Barrel nut, washers, and screws all come with it. So stoked!

The rail itself is a prime example of quality machining. Although the diamond pattern is a little more fancy than I would like, it blends nicely with the M-Lok slots. Although there are *barely* noticeable ridges on the outsides of the cutouts, there are absolutely no burrs or sharp edges. Another thing worth mentioning is that the holes for the screws on the rail are slightly larger than the shank of the screw. This means there is space for you to fine tune how your Swan rail on top lines up with the Swan rail on your upper receiver—both left to right and front to back. Just make sure you turn down those screws real snug once you get it where you want it.

The tolerance between the ID on the rail and the OD on the barrel nut is very tight, which I like. Although the barrel nut is pretty resilient, it’s important to remember that it’s made from aluminum so don’t crank on it without putting in washers first. Since it’s a lot-profile barrel nut, the AR-15 armorer’s master wrench doesn’t have the proper tool for turning it. I got around this by screwing one of the mounting screws directly into the barrel nut, and using the castle nut tool side of the wrench to get purchase on the barrel nut. Although unorthodox, I was able to get it on tighter than I needed to. And, in a pinch, so can you.

I managed to somehow chip/scrape a little bit of the cerakote finish off with an accidental tap from my hammer. A little bit bummed out, but I’m not planning on babying this rail anyway. Also worth noting that the OD cerakote finish is a *tiny* bit glossier than my OD cerakote lower, so if you’re going for a super consistent look this may not be your ticket. Don’t worry though, it is definitely a matte finish.

This is one hell of a rail! Is it worth $130? Probably. We’ll see how it holds up, but I’m expecting this to outlast the BA barrel it’s mounted over. Great product, Veriforce!
