Old Capitol Coins is located at 315 E 1St St in Iowa City, IA 52240. The business operates on a limited schedule, specifically open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:30 to 16:30. Because hours may change, call +1 (319) 594-0043 to confirm availability before visiting.
Old Capitol Coins holds a Type 01 federal firearms license (Dealer in Firearms). This license allows the dealer to buy, sell, and receive firearms, including transfers shipped from online purchases or other states, making this location a valid destination for federal firearm transfers.
An FFL transfer works anywhere in the United States by having the seller ship the firearm to your chosen dealer. You then collect it in person with photo ID, complete ATF Form 4473, and pass a background check. State and local rules can add requirements. Contact Old Capitol Coins first to confirm it accepts the transfer and what it charges.
