Johns Hardware is located at 135 S Lawler St in Postville, Iowa. The shop operates Monday through Friday from 10:00 to 17:00 and is open on Saturdays until 13:00. You can call +1 (563) 864-7523 to confirm these hours, any transfer fees, and whether they are accepting shipments on the day you plan to visit.
Johns Hardware holds a Type 01 federal firearms license (Dealer in Firearms). This specific license category allows the business to legally buy, sell, and receive firearms, which includes processing transfers for firearms shipped from online retailers or private sellers across the country.
When purchasing a firearm online or from a private party, the seller ships the item directly to this FFL dealer. The buyer must then appear in person with a valid photo ID, complete ATF Form 4473, and pass a federal background check before taking possession. State and local laws may impose additional requirements. Contact Johns Hardware first to confirm it accepts the transfer and what it charges.
