The 12″ AIR-LOK Series M-LOK Compression Free Floating Handguard provides a robust mounting solution for AR-15 builds, featuring Monolithic Top Rail and a proprietary barrel nut system. Constructed from T6 Aluminum, this component is finished with a durable Anodized Purple coating that resists wear and corrosion. The handguard utilizes a compression lock-down design, where Top Rail system slides over the barrel nut and is compressed against the receiver via four screws, ensuring a tight fit and structural integrity. This method eliminates the need for traditional tension rings, simplifying installation while maintaining rigidity. Weight is a critical factor in handguard selection, and this unit weighs 8.9 oz including the barrel nut. To further reduce mass, the body features triangle and diamond skeletonized cuts throughout its structure. The AIR-LOK design includes M-LOK slots on three sides (bottom, left, and right), allowing for the attachment of accessories without compromising the rail’s strength.
