This AR-15 5.56 Commander Series Pistol Complete Upper Kit in Anodize Gold provides a fully assembled upper receiver ready for integration with a compliant lower. The core component is a forged upper receiver finished in Anodize Gold Type 3 hard coat anodize, providing a durable surface resistant to wear and corrosion. This finish is applied to aluminum to create a surface that is nearly as hard as steel, ensuring longevity in demanding environments.

At the heart of the build is a 7.5″ Pistol nitride barrel crafted from 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium (ChMV) steel. The nitride process enhances the barrel’s surface hardness and corrosion resistance without adding a chrome lining, maintaining the integrity of the smooth bore. This barrel is head-spaced and chambered for 5.56 Caliber, with the specification noting compatibility with all .223 in brass. The barrel twist rate is 1:8, optimized for stabilizing a wide range of bullet weights common in this caliber.

The barrel is secured with a steel barrel nut cut from Carpenter 4140 steel bar stock. Unlike standard Mil-spec nuts, this component is milled out to provide a better-than-mil-spec hold for the barrel extension. The manufacturer torques these barrel nuts to 40-80 lbs, eliminating the chance of loosening during operation while avoiding excessive weight gain. The barrel is shrouded by a Universal 7″ M-LOK handguard made from 6061 aluminum extrusion. This handguard is CNC machined to strict standards and features a Mil-spec top rail alongside M-LOK slots for accessory attachment. The total length of 7″ covers the barrel completely while exposing the muzzle device.

The kit includes a nitride BCG (Bolt Carrier Group) equipped with a billet extractor and an anodize red charging handle. Gas operation is managed by a Pistol Length Gas System with a Low Profile Gas Block, ensuring reliable cycling for the short barrel length. At the muzzle, a Gattling muzzle brake is installed to manage recoil and gas impulse. The assembly is completed with a Mil-spec lower parts kit, a pistol buffer tube with pistol brace, and a skeletonized aluminum pistol grip. This kit contains everything required to complete the upper receiver assembly except the lower receiver.
